Introduction
Previously, I had written a log about the nature of God, that is my opinion about it. I did say that I was going to write a theodicy. But I view this log is much more necessary. This log is primarily directed for those who believe in God (including myself). As the title suggests, I will explain our relationship with our creator, that is how we should view God. Anyway, let's get started!
Recap
Previously, I discussed how God is the source of infinite energy. Everything is composed of energy, as matter is extremely condensed energy, this is proven by the equation E=mc^2. In conclusion, everything comes from God, as everything is energy, and energy comes from God. That is all we need to know for now, but this information will be important, so keep it in mind.
How to view God
Different people have different views of God. A majority of theists would bow to God, praise Her, worship Her, and exalt God as king. In this case, we view God as our King, or Queen, or Leader, or Supreme Leader. Atheists view God similarly, when they bash God for letting evil exist, they call God an oppressive tyrant. In Islam, they say the closest relationship with God is God is our Master, and we are Her slaves. All of these views have one thing in common, they are all very hierarchical. They require us to look God as above us, as in a higher ranking above us, that God is royal, while we are the common peasants. We are below, while God is above. We have to look up to God. But this is not the correct view.
In my opinion, we should view God as a friend, but more importantly, a parent. Let me explain, first, viewing God as our King, Queen, or Tyrant is, illogical. Because, let me ask you, in a country, did the sovereign created the People? I think not, in fact, it would be the People created the Sovereign, the Sovereign came from the People, not vise versa. This would mean God came from us, but that is clearly not the case, we came from God, so what does that leave us?
It is much more logical if we compare God to a parent, and we as Her children. When a mother gave birth, the baby came from the mother right? The baby develops through the mother, and they get their resources or energy from their mother. How is it not different from God then? We are beings of energy, and God is the source of infinite energy, thus when God created us, what did God use to create us? There is no other energy around, so God creates us, from Herself, God uses part of Herself to create all of us. Of course that part is finite, and a finite amount is nothing to the infinite. And a mother does the same thing, the egg cell was part of herself, but it then split from the mother and became new separate conscious being. In God's case, God had energy within Her, and then She took that energy out of Herself, and created us, a being that is separate from God.
God has no gender, but I say God is much more akin to a mother, though that is in the view of us humans. God is both parents at the same time, as in humans, both the father and mother contributed parts of themselves, to create a new and separate being that is their children. God is a single being, so God is both at once. The reason I say God is much more akin to a mother is because of a gender stereotype. It is the common perception that mothers love us unconditionally, while fathers love us conditionally, this, however, is completely false. A parent who has a common sense and logical mind, should love their children unconditionally. I have proven Free Will to be completely false, and if a parent loves a child only if they obey the rules, then they haven't understood this.
The Damage Religion Has Done
This log will also contain my critique against religion as a whole. As this log is about our relationship with God, and religion is also connected to it. First of all, what is a religion? Religion is a systematic set of beliefs, prayers, rituals, and books that all contain a guide. A guide on what? A guide on how to view God. Contrary to popular belief, Buddhism is not a religion, it is a philosophical ideology, as it does not address the issue of God at all. There are many different religions, monotheistic religions, or polytheistic religions. Polytheistic religions are usually much older, such as the Greek and Roman Gods, Hinduism, Japanese Folk Religion or Shintoism, and so on. Monotheistic religions are much newer, believing in a singular but Supreme God, they are represented by the big 3 Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity, and finally, Islam.
Now, what's the problem if religion is only a guide? It's a guide, we don't have to follow it right? It's just an inspiration, we are not meant to follow it word by word, right? Yes, I agree, if religion was only a guide. But the problem is, religion does so much more than "guide". In fact, they more of "force" us to view God that way. Religion, forces us to view God their way, and if we don't, we are doomed for eternal damnation, and any view of God that is different from theirs is blasphemy. Religion forces us to follow rules that they claim are of God, and if we violate them, God will punish us in the valley of darkness where weeping and the gnashing of teeth can be heard. They force us to talk very formally to God, and when we talk to God, we have to keep praising God, we have to lower ourselves to the lowest of the lowest in front of God, as we are slaves in front of our master, as if we are peasants in front of a despotic tyrant. In essence, they force us to reach God their way and only their way, they do not acknowledge any other way to reach God and calls the other ways blasphemy. In fact, in the eyes of religion, I am a blasphemer.
All of these restrictive dogmas that religion has set, they will not help us in believing in God. They will not help us reach God either. They only serve to separate us from God even further. They are a wall, that must be torn down. In the eyes of religion, God is our Sovereign. NO! God is our parent and our friend! In the eyes of religion, there is only one way to approach God. NO! We have to approach God using our own ways that we feel comfortable. Our relationship with God is personal, and nothing must interfere with it! Nothing can dictate how we conduct our faith in God! NOT THE POPE! NOT THE BIBLE! NOT THE QURAN! NOT THE PROPHETS! NOT PARENTS! NOT FRIENDS! NOT THE RABBIS! NOT THE PRIESTS! NOTHING, BUT OURSELVES!! But I am not done yet, that is not the only thing religion does, not satisfied after separating us from God, it fuels pride and hatred in the form of fanaticism and terrorism. It fuels ignorance as well! Those who deny science, claiming science is against God as their religion says so. Religion must be destroyed, it has brought more harm than good. It doesn't only divide us from God, it divides us from each other, and it fuels ignorance among us.
Science?
This is actually an extra part, but hear me out. Science, contrary to popular belief, does nothing to disprove the existence of God. It does the otherwise, science only glorifies God even further, it just shows how magnificent God is, how beautiful God has created the world. To study the world, is to respect God, and is one way we can express our love for God. As everything is caused by God, everything reflects God, which means to study the world, we would understand God, more and more, day by day. As a result, learning science can actually improve our relationship with God, and not harm it. If it harms, then we probably have to get rid of religion first.
Closing
That is all for this log. We have learnt that we have to view God as a parent and a friend, instead of this supreme sovereign. We also learnt why religion is harmful, as it separates us from God, divides us, fuels hatred, pride, and ignorance. Finally, we learnt how science is actually not against the idea of God, but it is supportive and studying the world is a form of respect and we can express our love of God with it. I promise, the next log will be a theodicy, actually, I won't promise, I may end up writing about the ideal economic system instead, so yeah. But it will be written, one day. Anyway, thanks for reading this log. If you enjoy it, you can send me compliments in a comment. Or if you have any suggestions and critiques, you can send me a comment as well. I hope you enjoyed reading, and have a nice day!
beberapa komentar
I guess religion will stay for a long long time. After all in necessariis unitas, in dubiis libertas, in omnibus caritas
